What is WAYB's return policy?

We allow returns on products within 30 days from the date of purchase. Returned products must be unused with original tags still attached and original packaging. 

What does unused mean when it comes to a car seat? Give it a try in your home or parked car; just don’t use it on the ground or on-the-go. All returns are subject to warehouse inspection.

Returns are handled on an individual basis, and we reserve the right to refuse or deny credit.

Does WAYB offer referral codes?

Where does the name WAYB come from?

WAYB (rhymes with baby) was started to help parents get out in the world, without compromising on beautiful design or sustainable materials. WAYB reinvents on-the-go gear to be better for parents, kids, and the planet. Way better.

Where are WAYB products manufactured?

Our products are designed in California, safety-tested in the U.S., and "born" in the Philippines. Our manufacturing partner works closely with us on sourcing eco-friendly materials and packaging. They are a favorite factory of prominent outdoor brands because of their commitment to quality and excellent working conditions.

Do you ship to PO, DPO, or APO addresses?

Unfortunately, due to a carrier restriction, we cannot ship to PO, DPO, or APO addresses at this time.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Our processing time before an order ships is 1-2 business days, excluding holidays; this timeline can be extended to 3-4 business days during sale periods. Currently, there are only two options for shipping at checkout: Standard Shipping and 2-Day Expedited Shipping.


Attached is a map illustrating standard shipping times depending on where you're located in the US. If you select 2-Day Expedited shipping, it should take your order 2 business days to arrive to you.

 

What are your shipping rates?

Orders over $99 ship Standard for free in the continental United States. Upon checkout, you may select from two shipping methods: Standard or 2 Day. Standard ships via FedEx Ground, which can take up to 5 business days. FedEx 2-day shipping can take up to 2 business days. Rates are calculated based on location and order value.

Once you place your order, please allow 1-2 business days for your order to process.

Please note there is an additional flat fee for shipping to Hawaii and Alaska.

Does WAYB ship internationally?

Currently, the Pico only meets all U.S. standards regulated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Pico has been tested to meet all standards listed in FMVSS 213. Since the Pico isn't approved to be used in international vehicles yet, we cannot recommend it for use outside of the U.S. at this time, with the exception of international flights leaving from the U.S., as it is FAA-approved.


We are absolutely looking to expand to sell and ship to international markets in the future. In the meantime, we recommend signing up for our mailing list, which you can find at the bottom of the page at WAYB.com, to keep updated on all upcoming news and developments!

Where do you ship from?

Our distribution center is located in Franklin, IN.

How do I track my order?

Our processing time before an order ships is 1-2 business days, excluding holidays; this timeline can be extended to 3-4 business days during sale periods. Once it leaves our facilities, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number.

Tracking information may not be immediately available after your order is placed. It can take up to 24 hours for the number to become active in the carrier's system. If you don't see any updates right away, please be patient and check back later.

What if my package gets lost, is stolen, or arrives damaged?

We partner with Corso to provide hassle-free solutions to issues during the shipping process that are outside of our control, such as lost, stolen, or damaged items. When these things happen, Corso helps you avoid going through the encumbered claims process with the carrier, which can delay our ability to send you a reorder immediately. This service also contributes to a verified carbon offset project, making your shipment carbon neutral. If you choose not to opt-in for Corso Shipping Plus, please be aware that WAYB is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen packages once they leave our facility.

What is your shipping policy?

We currently ship to all 50 states in the USA. The rates below apply to the contiguous United States. A separate shipping charge will apply for addresses in Alaska and Hawaii. We do not ship to addresses outside of the U.S. at this time. Due to item size, we cannot ship to PO Box or APO Box locations and must ship to a physical address.

Please note: Due to COVID-19, FedEx orders may be delayed. We advise to allow up to 3 to 10 business days for Ground shipments to arrive.

What materials does WAYB use?

We strive to use best-in-class materials to reduce our carbon footprint, and when they don't exist, we pioneer processes to innovate better ones – for kids and the planet they stand to inherit.

  • WAYB limits the use of plastic in products & packaging. When used, we source recycled or recyclable plastic without compromising quality and safety.
  • WAYB's AeroWing™ aluminum is aerospace-grade (the same kind used in rocket ships!) and is infinitely recyclable through WAYB's recycling program.
  • No PU (ew!) foam here. When foam must be used, we source foam that is more durable, heat-resistant, and trusted for use in aerospace adventures!
  • AstroKnit™ is a wool-polyester mesh that creates a comfy seat without foam & fabric. Plus, our wool is sourced from Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified suppliers, protecting sheep and the land they graze on.

Does the Pico use PFAs/PFCS?

What is B Corp Certification?

As a Certified B Corp, how we treat people and the planet is just as important as the bottom line. With this globally recognized credential, WAYB meets the highest standards of social and environmental performance and joins the global movement to use business for good.

Re-Certified Pico Program

At times, Picos are returned to us for minor reasons like a color exchange or the Pico did not arrive in time. After a careful initial review by our receiving department, we send select units to our factory for an exhaustive re-certification process.

The Quality Control team evaluates potential seats for the program. If selected, each seat is put through a strenuous 360-degree quality review. All aspects of the Pico are scrutinized, from the headrest to the LATCH system. Any component that needs to be replaced is done so with new genuine WAYB parts. Safety is the top priority for WAYB, which is why each Re-Certified seat is held to the same high standards as a new Pico. Every Re-Certified Pico seat conforms to all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards and is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft.

While some may have cosmetic imperfections, every Re-Certified Pico has the same warranty as a new Pico. Re-Certified Picos have a useful life of 7 years from the re-certification date; a sticker with this date is attached to the bottom of every seat.

This is not a buy-back program, so we cannot accept Picos in exchange for compensation.

How can I register my Pico?

Your registration information will be used only in the case of safety announcements. WAYB values and respects the privacy of all our customers, which is guaranteed in our terms and conditions.

How do I file a warranty claim?

All WAYB items have a 3-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. If you're experiencing an issue with one of your items, please complete our claim form here!

What is your warranty policy?

Our gear is covered by a 3-year limited warranty, starting from the day it was purchased.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER

  • Normal wear and tear or cosmetic damages, including the natural breakdown of colors and materials over time
  • Damage caused by commercial use, accidents, unlawful vehicle operation, negligence, sun intensity, sweat, detergents, damp storage, frequent washings, failure to comply with the instruction manual, or modifications/repairs not performed or authorized by WAYB
  • Incorrect or inappropriate usage, abuse, or, improper handling,, including but not limited to installation, care, maintenance, storage, and cleaning that does not follow the instructions in our manuals
  • Casualties and carelessness, including those caused by unsuitable parts, air, or automobile transportation
  • Products involved in an accident resulting in losses
  • Products purchased from an unauthorized retailer, such as private sellers
  • Items purchased or gifted through a non-retailer third party or items gifted in used condition
  • Owners or users other than the original purchaser or registrant
  • Damage caused by use outside a product’s intended purpose or design
  • Dissatisfaction pertaining to functionality, features, or aesthetics

When will WAYB have a sale?

We're always excited to share news about our sales, and while they're not a regular thing, you can stay in the loop by keeping an eye on our newsletter and social media. That way, you'll be the first to know when a new sale drops! 

Does WAYB offer price adjustments if an item goes on sale after I've made a purchase?

Price adjustments will be honored for purchases made within 14 days before the start of a promotional period.

Does WAYB offer a military discount?

We've partnered with SheerID to offer a military discount! To get started, visit our Military Appreciation page.

The military discount cannot be combined with other offers, including sitewide sales or items with pre-existing markdowns. However, your SheerID code does not expire and can be used on any full-price item anytime.

Why am I being charged sales tax?

States require collection of sales tax from all online retailers, regardless of whether they have a physical presence in a state. WAYB conforms to all sales tax regulations as required by law.

 

How do I reset my password?

Please go to the account page and click on "Forgot your password" above the "sign in" button.

Do Gift Cards Expire?

Gift cards and merchandise credits do not expire!

Can I change the shipping method or order details after purchase?

Once an order is placed, we are unable to modify it. For your safety and security, we do not store credit card information on file, which also means we cannot change the shipping method once the order has been processed. We recommend carefully reviewing your order and shipping choice before finalizing your purchase.

If you anticipate needing an expedited shipping option, please select it at checkout since we cannot add expedited shipping retroactively. Orders are typically processed within a few business days, so please consider this when intending to use the products for upcoming trips or events.

What should I do if I see multiple charges on my account after attempting to make a purchase?

It is possible that temporary authorization holds may appear as pending charges on your account. These are not actual charges and should disappear from your account shortly. If you did not receive an order confirmation, it is likely that the order did not go through. Please reach out to us with the details, and we will assist you in confirming the status of your order and addressing any issues with your account charges.

Can I use a promo code on sale items?

Unfortunately, promotions cannot be stacked, so a promo code cannot be applied to the purchase of an already discounted item; this includes sitewide sales or items with a pre-existing markdown, such as the Re-Certified Pico

Can I use more than one promo code?

Unfortunately, only one promo code can be used per order. 

Can I use multiple payment methods at checkout?

In order to use two methods of payment on an order, we recommend using your prepaid gift card or debit/credit card to purchase a WAYB gift card on our site. It will be delivered via email instantly, and you can use this gift card towards your order by entering the code in the box where it says "Gift card or discount code." You will be able to pay the remainder with your credit card.

Can I edit or cancel my order?

We're unable to modify an order after it has been placed, as we don't store credit card information on file for your safety and security.

Please contact us as soon as possible at help@wayb.com, and we will attempt to cancel your order. However, as our team works fast to get your orders to you, we can't guarantee that your order can be canceled.

How to clean the Daily or Mini Pack

To clean your new WAYB bag, please follow these care instructions:

  1. Handwash: Use a mild detergent and gently handwash the pack.
  2. Line Dry (Drip Dry): Allow the pack to air dry by hanging it up.
  3. Do Not Bleach: Avoid using bleach as it can damage the fabric.
  4. Do Not Dry Clean: Dry cleaning is not recommended for this pack.

These steps will help maintain the pack's durability and appearance.

Can the Daily Pack or Mini Pack fit the Pico?

None of the items in our bag line will hold the Pico. For easy travel with the Pico, we recommend checking out the Pico Carry Bag

Does the Pico fit in overhead storage?

We made sure the car seat, whether inside the Carry Bag or on its own, is compact enough to fit nicely in the overhead bin or even under the seat in front of you in most commercial planes.

If you check the Pico, it can run the risk of being damaged by the baggage handling process. If the Pico is mishandled, this is not covered under our warranty, as written in the Breathe Easy Guarantee: https://wayb.com/pages/warranty.

Can I purchase replacement parts like shoulder pads or seat fabric kits for my WAYB product?

We understand that sometimes parts like shoulder straps or seat fabrics can get lost or damaged, and we've got you covered.

Replacement shoulder pads and seat fabric kits for your WAYB products are available for purchase. You can find these items listed under the Spare Parts section on our website.

Please note that we did upgrade all shoulder pads to the 6" style, and you can select this even if your original shoulder pads were the 3.25" style. This means you can choose the new size without concerns about fit.

How can I request a locking clip for my WAYB Pico car seat?

To request a locking clip for your WAYB Pico car seat, please provide your original order number or proof of purchase. The locking clip is a specific part that's used in vehicles that do not have seat belt systems that lock before a crash. In the U.S., all cars manufactured and sold since 1996 are required to have a passenger seatbelt system that locks car seats in place. Consequently, most cars you encounter will likely have this feature, and you shouldn't need a locking clip.

If you still wish to receive a locking clip, bear in mind that the Pico car seat meets all U.S. standards set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and is tested to fulfill standards listed in FMVSS 213. However, it is not approved for use in international vehicles, with the exception of international flights departing from the U.S., where it is FAA-approved. If you are traveling internationally, we cannot recommend using the Pico abroad at this time.

If you decide to proceed with the request, please email your proof of purchase or original order number, along with your current mailing address, to our customer service team, who will be glad to assist you.

I would like to know more about the color options available. Can you provide a description?

Thank you for your interest in our products. We try our best to depict the colorways accurately in each product photo. For instance, the Golden Hour colorway leans more towards orange. If you need more detailed information or have specific questions about a color, please feel free to contact us directly.

Can I get a new instruction manual for my product?

Yes, a digital version of the instruction manual can be found on our website under Manuals & Videos. If you still require a physical copy, please provide your original order number or proof of purchase, along with your current mailing address. We will send you a new manual upon confirmation of your details.

Can the Pico be cleaned?

Thanks to our mesh weave, you can spot-clean the Pico easily; the materials are also removable for deeper cleaning if desired! 

We recommend following the cleaning instructions listed on our website (also in the owner's manual) as often as necessary. We cannot recommend specific brands of cleaners but do recommend using a wool-safe detergent to spot clean or do a hand wash with warm water. If the stains cannot be removed, you can purchase replacement covers through our website.

Does the Pico come with a bag for travel?

The Pico does not come with a carry bag, case, or other backpack for travel. Our Pico Carry Bag must be purchased separately.

Does the Pico expire?

All Picos have a useful life of 7 years from the date of manufacture or recertification, depending on the Pico purchased. Stickers with this date, the model, and the serial number are attached to the bottom of every seat.

Is the Pico forward-facing-only?

Yes, the Pico is a forward-facing-only seat not meant to recline or be installed rear-facing.

What are the Pico's dimensions?

Storage Position: 11.6" L x 14.5" W x 18.9" H 

Lowest Headrest Position: 15.2" L x 14.5" W x 22.8" H 

Highest Headrest Position: 15.2" L x 14.5" W x 27.8" H

Weight: 8.0 lbs

What are the Pico's age, height, and weight requirements?

The Pico is best recommended for kids aged 2 years and up who weigh between 22-50 pounds and are between 30-45" tall. The maximum height limit is when the straps are level with the shoulders or when the tops of the ears are level with the top of the headrest in its highest position, whichever occurs first.

The Pico can be used with children 1 year and up as long as they meet the other height and weight requirements. However, both WAYB and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommend that children be harnessed in rear-facing car seats for as long as possible until they reach the highest height or weight limits set by the car seat manufacturer. We encourage you to check with your state laws as they can differ in terms of how long they require a child to remain rear-facing.

What if my Pico was in a car accident?

Car seats are damaged in vehicle crashes, and in many cases, the car seat must be destroyed and replaced. However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) advises that if a child restraint (car seat) has been used in a minor crash that the child restraint can continue to be used.

NHTSA defines a minor crash, which a car seat can continue to be used after, as a crash where ALL of the following apply:

• The vehicle was able to be driven away from the crash site.

• The vehicle door nearest the car seat was not damaged.

• None of the passengers in the vehicle sustained any injuries in the crash.

• If the vehicle has airbags, the airbags did not deploy during the crash, and

• There is no visible damage to the car seat.

Damage to car seats may be difficult to see, or it may be difficult to verify the damage to the car seat. For those situations where any of the NHTSA Child Restraint Re-use criteria has not been met, or if there is uncertainty about whether damage to the seat has occurred, NHTSA and WAYB advise parents or caregivers to replace their car seat.

Contact your insurance company for information on their policy regarding car seat replacement after a crash.

How can I get a letter from WAYB stating that a car seat is no longer safe after being in an accident?

WAYB cannot provide individual letters for insurance purposes, but we can supply a PDF version of the relevant page from our manual that outlines the official statement on using the Pico car seat after car accidents. Please provide this document to your insurance company as needed.

Can the Pico be used outside of the US?

Currently, the Pico only meets all U.S. standards regulated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Pico has been tested to meet all standards listed in FMVSS 213. Since the Pico isn't approved to be used in international vehicles yet, we cannot recommend it for use outside of the U.S. at this time, with the exception of international flights leaving from the U.S., as it is FAA-approved.

Can the Pico be used in a golf cart?

Unfortunately, the Pico is not approved for Low-Speed Vehicles (LSV), such as golf carts. Even if there's a seatbelt present, the Pico has not been tested for that kind of vehicle, so we cannot guarantee safety or recommend use in LSVs. We cannot recommend any car seats for use with such vehicles.

Does the Pico meet flame retardant standards?

The Pico meets all standards listed in FMVSS 302 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Flammability of Interior Materials).

Can I take my Pico on a flight?

The Pico meets all U.S. standards regulated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Pico has been tested to meet all standards listed in FMVSS 213. 

The Pico comes with a label located on the bottom of the seat that includes the standard wording required by the FAA, as well as the airplane symbol on the wing of the backrest. Please find two photos attached showing the labels and their locations on the seat. 

Every airline can vary in regulations, so WAYB and NHTSA highly recommend verifying with the airlines before your travels to ensure they will accommodate the seat.

What testing and safety protocols does the Pico follow?

The Pico car seat meets all U.S. standards regulated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Pico has been tested to meet all standards listed in FMVSS 213. We at WAYB have our own set of extensive internal testing and remarks to ensure the safest and best performance of the Pico. Child restraint manufacturers are required to self-certify that their products meet all the above-mentioned applicable safety standards and regulations set by the federal government to be allowed to be sold in the U.S. The Pico car seat has met all of these requirements. We take safety seriously at WAYB. Most importantly, we focus on safety for your kids and ours. We're proud to design WAYB products to use in our own families and would be honored to be a part of your family's journey.

Returns

We offer a 30-day return window from the date of purchase. If the product doesn’t end up being the right fit for your family, you can return it for a refund (minus shipping) as long as it’s unused and in its complete, original packaging and contents. What does unused mean when it comes to a car seat? Give it a try in your home or parked car, just don’t use it on the ground or on-the-go (pro tip: don’t give junior a snack while you’re checking if it fits).

Pico: Designed for Safety

  • AeroWing™ Aluminum - The Pico Car Seat is designed with custom made, extruded 6000 series Aluminum (AL) Safetwin pipe, marrying the strength of two individual pipes for maximum durability while keeping Pico light and compact.
  • V-Shape Tether - The Pico’s seat tether has a V-shape design, which allows for two attachment points to ensure a secure installation and minimal side-to-side movement. In the event of a collision, multiple rows of stitching on the tether itself help decelerate forward movement. We recommend using the seat tether whenever possible. 
  • 5-Point Harness - The Pico’s 5-point harness ensures a secure fit and five secure attachment points at all times: one over each shoulder, one on each side of the pelvis, and one between the legs with all five coming together at a common buckle. A 5-point harness on forward-facing child restraints keeps kids secure, limits forward movement, and better distributes force in the event of a collision. 

    Safety Standards

    The Pico meets all US standards regulated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

    The Pico has been tested to meet all FMVSS 213 and FMVSS 302 standards.

    What Does That Actually Mean?

    • The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is an agency of the US federal government that belongs to the U.S. Department of Transportation. NHTSA sets the US standards for all child passenger safety seats.
    • The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is the governmental body responsible for the safety of civil aviation. Any car seat used on a plane must meet their standards.
    • FMVSS 213 - Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Child Restraint Systems
    • FMVSS 302 - Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Flammability of Interior Materials

    We test our products in the same safety labs used by NHTSA for their own crash testing.

    Pico Requirements

    The Pico is recommended for kids age 2 years and up who weigh 22 to 50 pounds and are 30” to 45" tall. The maximum height limit is reached when the straps are level with the shoulders, or when the tops of the ears are level with the top of the headrest in its highest position, whichever occurs first.

    We encourage you to check your state’s laws. Some states, such as California, require children to remain rear-facing in most cases until age 2.

    Pico Installation

    The Pico can be installed using either your car's LATCH system, a lap and shoulder belt, or lap only seat belt. We encourage you to use whichever installation method is easiest for your lifestyle and vehicle. Please visit our support page for useful instructions on a safe and easy installation for your little one.

    Remember to always attach the tether strap connector to the tether anchor if the Pico is installed in a seat equipped with a tether anchor.

    Flying With Pico

    When taking the Pico on a flight, you may need to show the flight staff the government-approved label that says, "This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft." The Pico labeling is located at the bottom of the seat in red text.

    Pico Expiration & Warranty

    The Pico expires seven years from the date of manufacture and comes with a three-year limited warranty.

    Specifics

    If for some reason our gear shows a defect in materials or workmanship during the warranty period, and such defect is discovered during the warranty period, we will, at our discretion, repair or replace your product at no cost to you. If we are unable to remedy defects, we will replace or issue a refund equal to the price at the time of your purchase.

    Please note that this warranty extends to all purchases from WAYB.com and if purchased new* from a WAYB authorized retailer. The warranty is terminated when the original purchaser sells or transfers the product to another person.

    For the avoidance of doubt, this warranty is limited to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Liability under this warranty is limited to the cost of the repair or replacement of the product.

    • Normal wear and tear or cosmetic damages, including the natural breakdown of colors and materials over time
    • Damage caused by commercial use, accidents, unlawful vehicle operation, negligence, sun intensity, sweat, detergents, damp storage, frequent washings, failure to comply with the instruction manual, or modifications/repairs not performed or authorized by WAYB
    • Incorrect or inappropriate usage, abuse, or, improper handling, including but not limited to installation, care, maintenance, storage, and cleaning that does not follow the instructions in our manuals
    • Casualties and carelessness, including those caused by unsuitable parts, air, or automobile transportation
    • Products involved in an accident resulting in losses
    • Products purchased from an unauthorized retailer, such as private sellers
    • Items purchased or gifted through a non-retailer third party or items gifted in used condition
    • Owners or users other than the original purchaser or registrant
    • Damage caused by use outside a product’s intended purpose or design
    • Dissatisfaction pertaining to functionality, features, or aesthetics
    • Damage caused by checking or gate checking the car seat when traveling by air

    *The term "new" or "recertified" on our website refers exclusively to products in brand-new condition. This means they are unused, unopened, and in their original packaging, as supplied directly from the manufacturer.
