Oh hi! Meet the new brand that's making family gear way better

Being a parent is hard. From the first years when safety is job one, to the ginormous task of raising an awesome human, it’s definitely an adventure. Parents have enough to navigate without dealing with products that don’t work, don’t last, and are trashing the planet these little ones are meant to inherit.

We’re WAYB (rhymes with baby), and we believe that parenting should be just a bit easier. That families should have products that solve their problems, are super-durable, and are made from materials that are better for people and the planet. Founded by the makers of some of the world’s best outdoor gear, we know how to make products that are super-strong, ultralight, and easy on the earth. We’re bringing that know-how to the baby industry, along with our love of sleek design and delightful features.

Our "firstborn” is the Pico travel car seat. Two of our founders, Tio and his dad I.S., were in an airport one day when they noticed a parent struggling to lug a bulky car seat. Traveling with small kids seemed hard enough without adding a big, heavy car seat to the mix. They realized that families had two not-so-great choices when traveling with little ones: deal with the hassle of bringing a cumbersome car seat, or skip the seat, taking a safety risk (see why the FAA thinks young kids should be in a restraint system like the Pico).

Tio and I.S. wanted to create a light, portable car seat that would pass all safety requirements and still fold up small so families could roam with it. They worked with their longtime friend and collaborator Michael Crooke, former CEO of Patagonia, to ensure that the Pico was eco-friendly without compromising on quality, design, or functionality. After many months of development and testing, the Pico travel car seat is set to arrive in spring 2019 (sign up here to stay in the loop on when and where to get the Pico).
